FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAWRENCE , KS - Last night, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly issued her four phase plan to re-open the Kansas economy, in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In phase four, or the "phase out" stage, Kelly emphasized that "no earlier than June 15" will large gatherings (90+ or more) be allowed to commence, while strongly recommending to "maintain social distance where applicable". Travel will also be unrestricted.

Lead Horse LLC and its board members have opted to postpone the powwow until further notice. The powwow fell before the recommended date (June 9 and 10) and was to be held at Building #21, which is owned and operated by Douglas County.
The Red Talk speaking series, presented by Humanities Kansas, is still on but will be rescheduled for a later time.
Once information is known about the course of action that city leaders and local stakeholders take, we will have a more definitive idea on the next steps for the 3rd Annual Young Professionals Powwow that satisfies you, while guaranteeing the safety of all.
If you reserved a room at our host hotel, Country Inn and Suites, for our powwow - please see their cancellation policy here.
